Newberry Hill Heritage Park
Newberry Hill Heritage Park shares an access road with Klahowya High School, and serves as the primary training ground for several of the school's sports teams. In addition, Newberry has some great technical trails spread across two major sections to the west and south of the school. Whether you're on a mountain bike, horseback, or on your own two feet - you'll find tons of terrain to keep you occupied!
Trails maintained by the Newberry Hill Heritage Park Stewardship Group.
Green Mountain
Green Mountain State Forest is a working forest managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. As such, it's open to both motorized and non-motorized users. There are miles of trail accessible from either the Wildcat or Gold Creek Trailheads, and an outstanding view to be had at the peak of the mountain. Weekends tend to be busy with motorized users, equestrians, mountain bikers, hikers, and runners all sharing the trails. Additionally, camping is available on weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day at the Horse Camp!
DNR owns the land and encourages local user groups to help maintain the trails. Evergreen West Sound of course pitches in on that effort.
Banner Forest Heritage Park
Banner Forest is a favorite destination for folks in South Kitsap for good reason! Miles and miles of trail packed into a pocket-sized park makes for lots of twists and turns through this densely forested area! Even at peak times you'll run into a handful other riders, runners, hikers, or equestrians.
